The field of analysis and interpretation of intracardiac electrograms is fascinating but complex and often intimidates the general cardiovascular trainee. For the cardiovascular board examination, however, a very limited and fundamental knowledge of intracardiac electrograms is expected. In this chapter, the normal intracardiac electrogram sequence is introduced and briefly explained; tracings illustrate the main concepts that may be tested on the cardiovascular board examination.
