This chapter begins with a discussion of the definition and history of the Apocrypha, which means ‘[books] hidden away” and is the name given to those books found in the Old Testament of ancient Greek (Christian) Bibles but not in the Hebrew scriptures of Judaism. It then describes the books of the Apocrypha.
