It. violinist and conductor. Gave concerts as child, professional début Naples, aged 13. First winner, Paganini Comp., 1958. Dir., I Musici in Rome, 1972–7. Wide repertory, but particularly assoc. with mus. of Paganini, of whose long‐lost E minor conc. he gave first modern perf. Author of L'arte del violino (Milan, 1987).
