[cf. OIr. Oíb, attractiveness, beauty].
Second of the three wives of Lir and mother of the children of Lir in Oidheadh Chlainne Lir [The Tragic Story of the Children of Lir]. She was a foster-daughter of Bodb Derg and a sister of Lir's third wife, Aífe. In some texts she is known as Niam or Albha. When she died Aífe became step-mother to the children. In some English-language retellings of the story the name Fingula, an anglicization of Finnguala, one of Aeb's twin daughters, is perversely substituted for Áeb.
