Quick Reference

A phobia or cluster of phobias associated with anxiety or fear of leaving home, being in a crowd, visiting public places such as shopping areas, travelling alone in buses, trains, or aircraft, or being in other situations from which escape might be awkward or where a panic attack would be difficult to handle. It is usually regarded as a specific phobia, but some classifications (such as ICD-10) assign it to a subcategory on its own. See also hikikomori.
