Son of Eanwine, was said by Symeon of Durham to have been descended from Ida. He replaced Aethelwald Moll in 765, and in 768 married Osgearn or Osgifu, possibly the daughter of king Eadberht and a sister of king Oswulf. He was driven out by the son of Aethelwald Moll in 774 and died in exile among the Picts. Northumbria was now victim of disputed successions and short reigns, while facing increasing danger.
