Quick Reference

A receptor (activation-inducible TNFR family member, TNF receptor superfamily 18, glucocorticoid-induced TNFR family-related protein) expressed in lymph node and peripheral blood leucocytes, up-regulated in response to various activating stimuli. It appears to be involved in the regulation of T-cell receptor-mediated cell death, associates with TRAF1 (TNF receptor-associated factor 1), TRAF2, and TRAF3, and induces NFκB activation via TRAF2. The ligand is AITRL, a member of the TNF superfamily (TNFSF18, 177 aa) that is expressed in endothelial cells. AITRL regulates T-cell proliferation and survival, and is involved in the interaction between T cells and endothelial cells.
