Quick Reference
An extensive family (A-kinase anchoring protein family) of scaffolding proteins that determine the cellular localization of different protein kinase A isoforms which are tethered through a regulatory subunit. Calcineurin and protein kinase C also bind to some AKAPs; the PKC and calcineurin sites are different, so that both can be bound. See pericentrin.
