Quick Reference

(1881–1971), English theatre manager. Son of the dramatist James Albery and the actress Mary Moore (later Lady Wyndham), he assisted the latter in the management of the Criterion, Wyndham's, and New (now Albery) Theatres until her death, afterwards sharing it with his stepbrother Howard Wyndham. During his long career, and in particular during the 1930s, he was responsible for the introduction to London of many interesting plays. His son Sir Donald (1914–), who had been associated with him for many years, successfully continued his policy, becoming Chairman and Managing Director of The Wyndham Theatres Ltd.
