Quick Reference

A C-type lectin (alboaggregin A, a disulphide-linked heterotetramer of ~130 aa subunits), from the white-lipped tree viper Trimeresurus albolabris, that causes platelet aggregation by acting as a platelet GPIb agonist. Alboaggregin B is a heterodimer and also has platelet aggregating activity but is calcium-independent. Their action is similar to that of botrocetin.
