She trained at the Moscow Choreographic Academy from 1988, studying with Sofia Golovina and others. In 1997 she graduated into the Bolshoi, becoming soloist in 1999 and principal in 2004. A strong, intelligent dancer, with a versatile range she has created lead roles in Lacotte's La Fille du Pharaon (2000), Ratmansky's The Bright Stream (2003) and Juliet in Radu Poklitaru and Declan Donnellan's Romeo and Juliet (2003). Recipient of numerous awards including the Gold Mask, 2004.
