A form of apraxia, usually resulting from a lesion in the corpus callosum, in which a hand (usually the left) is experienced as not belonging to its owner and performs actions independent of, though not against, its owner's will. It is associated with lesions in the posterior corpus callosum and parietal lobe and is a form of agnosia. Compare anarchic hand, rubber hand phenomenon.
