Quick Reference

A test of alternate aerobic–anaerobic metabolism. It typically consists of 12 series of jumps, performed with counter-movement, with a 20-s rest between one jump and the next, except that between the third and fourth, sixth and seventh, and ninth and tenth jumps, the rest time is 30 s. During the extra rest period, a blood sample may be taken from the ear lobe for blood lactate analysis. Evaluation is based on height of the jumps, work and power output, and (if blood sample taken) lactate production.
