French dancer. She studied at the Conservatoire Français and at Paris Opera Ballet School, making her debut at the Opéra Comique before joining the Paris Opera where she was promoted première danseuse in 1955 and étoile (1958–71). As well as dancing the classical ballerina roles she created new roles in Lifar's Chemin de lumière (1957) and Flindt's La Leçon (1963) and Le Jeune Homme à marier (1965), among others. After retiring from the stage she was active as a teacher and coach, for example staging Bourmeister's Swan Lake for Finnish National Ballet (1993) and Lander's Études for San Francisco Ballet in 1998. She taught at the Paris Opera Ballet School and was made Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1975.
