A lysine analogue and derivative that inhibits enzymes that bind at lysine residues. An inhibitor of the plasminogen activators streptokinase and urokinase, it inhibits the activity of plasmin, and the production of plasmin from plasminogen. Used clinically as an antifibrinolytic, antihaemorrhagic agent. TN Amicar.
