A signal which consists of a continuously varying voltage. For example, the signals which are generated by sources of sound are analogue signals. Before being processed by a computer such signals have to undergo analogue to digital conversion. Analogue signals are in contrast to digital signals which consist of discrete values of zeroes and ones.
