Cuban dancer. She studied at the Havana Sociedad Pro-Arte Musical School with the Alonsos and at the School of American Ballet, making her debut (as Dulce Wöhner) with Ballet Theatre in 1947. She subsequently joined Ballet de Cuba as ballerina, returned to Ballet Theatre (1951), was ballerina with Stuttgart (1957), with Munich State Opera (1958–63 and 1964–5), and with Ballet Concerto, Florida, from 1967. She founded Jacksonville Ballet Theatre in 1970, remaining there as director, and creating many works and continues to direct its associate school.
