A progressive, occasionally fatal disorder affecting the respiratory tract and sometimes the oral cavity. There is marked destruction, and lesions typically affect the gingivae, which appear red and raised. The aetiology is unknown but antibodies against neutrophils (c-ANCA antibodies) are characteristic. It is treated with steroids and cytotoxic drugs.
