An apocryphal book, probably dating from the late-2nd cent., of which there is an epitome by Gregory of Tours. It depicts the apostle imprisoned at Patras in Greece. The ‘Martyrdom of St Andrew’, a variant text of part of the work, describes his death by crucifixion, but without mention of the ‘St Andrew's cross’.
