The title of an Australian literary journal, founded in 1940 at the University of Adelaide, which was adopted as that of the modernist literary and artistic movement in Australia. Its members included the painters Arthur Boyd and Sidney Nolan and it sought to shake up the conservative cultural establishment of Australia in the 1940s.
