Quick Reference

A halo phenomenon consisting of a white arc that is visible on the opposite side of the sky to the Sun, and which is probably created by a single internal reflection within ice crystals. Pairs of anthelic arcs are normally seen, intersecting to give a diagonal cross, centred on the parhelic circle, 180° from the Sun, where they may enhance an anthelion (if present).
