A town on the coast of Palestine. Paul spent a night in prison here en route from Jerusalem to his trial in Caesarea (Acts 23: 31). It was perhaps the OT Aphek (Josh. 12: 18) and had been rebuilt by Herod the Great, and named after his father, Antipater.
