Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A protein (apoptosis protease activating factor 1, 1248 aa) that assembles into an oligomeric apoptosome in the presence of cytochrome c and dATP. The apoptosome activates procaspase-9, initiating a cascade of events that end in apoptotic death of the cell. APAF1-interacting protein (242 aa) inhibits APAF1, has an antiapoptotic function and prevents ischaemic damage to muscle.
