A system for classifying flowering plants that was introduced in 2003 by the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group, an international group of systematic botanists, as an updated version of that published in 1998 as APG I. The system groups plant orders into clades. No formal names are used above the taxonomic level of order, the clades having only informal names, e.g. asterids, monocots, and rosids.
