Quick Reference
A Jebusite who owned a threshing floor (2 Sam. 24: 16). A pestilence which had ravaged the land to punish David for having presumptuously held a census to ascertain the nation's strength did not get beyond this threshing floor. The greatly relieved king bought the premises as a suitable site for the future Temple (2 Chron. 3: 1 where Araunah is called Ornan), built by Solomon after a similar census which had no dire consequences.
