Arm sprints are similar to bench stepping, but the hands are used rather than the feet. They are used for strengthening the arms and shoulder muscles (figure 7).

▪ With a step or bench immediately in front of you, assume the press-up position, face down with your legs extended. Support the weight of your body on the balls of your feet and your hands. Using each arm alternately in a step-like action, raise your upper body on and off the bench.
