A US Army missile and space facility at Huntsville, Alabama. In the 1950s, German rocket engineer Wernher von Braun led a team of more than 2 000 at his Guided Missile Development Division, to develop large launching vehicles. Most of the ABMA staff were transferred to create NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in 1960.
