Arrhenius plot

Quick Reference

A graphical plot of the logarithm of reaction rate against the reciprocal of absolute temperature. In the straightforward case of a single-stage reaction this gives a linear plot from which the activation energy and the frequency factor can be determined. Biological systems often show much more complex behaviour in response to temperature change and, although it is possible to interpret the complex Arrhenius plot as a series of linear elements, this is not necessarily justifiable.
