Art et Décoration

Quick Reference

With an outlook and layout similar to the British magazine the Studio this leading French periodical was edited by Thiébault‐Sisson and published by the Librairie Centrale des Beaux‐Arts in Paris. In its early years it featured the work of leading Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau designers and was geared to an amateur, culturally inclined audience. Although tending to focus on the handcraft‐intensive work of artistes‐décorateurs such as Jacques‐Émile Ruhlmann, more progressive design trends were also analysed by such contributors as Francis Jourdain.

Subjects: Industrial and Commercial Art.
