Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

One of several proteins (see SR proteins) found in nuclear speckles and involved in pre-mRNA splicing. ASF/SF-2 (SRp30a, arginine/serine-rich splicing factor 1, ASF1, 248 aa) interacts with other spliceosomal proteins and plays a role in preventing exon skipping, ensuring the accuracy of splicing and regulating alternative splicing. The isoforms ASF-2 and ASF-3 act as splicing repressors.
