An early personality inventory designed to measure ascendance versus submissiveness in everyday social relationships, constructed by the US psychologists Gordon W(illard) Allport (1897–1967) and Floyd H(enry) Allport (1890–1978) and published in their book The A-S Reaction Study (1928). Not to be confused with the A-S scale.
