Fr. music printer and publisher. Experimented for years with music types. In 1527–8 produced Chansons nouvelles in a diamond‐shaped notation, with staff segments attached, which required only one impression. This halved the printing time and led to cheap printed mus. From 1537 was official printer of the King's mus. First publisher to achieve a European distribution.
