attendance record

Quick Reference

The official log of an employee's presence at work. The record will note holiday entitlements and keep a track of days off sick, late attendance, and non-attendance. The record might reveal patterns of absence that can be investigated—for example, the employee who is late for work every Thursday during the soccer season when the local team has a Wednesday evening fixture. Attendance records are sometimes used by employers when making decisions about redundancy.
