French dancer. She studied with F. Taglioni and Albert, making her debut in London's Drury Lane in 1833. She danced for a season at the Paris Opera in 1835, then travelled to the US where she enjoyed great personal success, dancing La Bayadère in 1836 and La Sylphide in 1938. She was New York's first Giselle (1846).
