A protein, originally named for its ability to stimulate motility in melanoma cells, that is in fact lysophospholipase D (EC 3.1.4.39, 863 aa) which works through production of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA). It is involved in angiogenesis, by stimulating migration of smooth muscle cells, and in neurite outgrowth.
