A limited company created in 1987 from the former British Airports Authority. It owns and operates London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted) as well as Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Prestwick, and Glasgow airports. It is responsible for the maintenance of buildings, security services, passenger services, and terminal management. In 2008 the Competition Commission ruled that BAA should sell three of its airports, including two in London.
