Quick Reference
A genetic stock that, though heterozygous, can be maintained generation after generation without selection. Such stocks may contain balanced lethal genes, or a recessive lethal gene, which kills hemizygous males, combined with a nonallelic recessive gene, which confers sterility on homozygous females. See M5 technique.
