(1786–1820), poet, and novelist. Born in Cork and educated at TCD, he practised as a barrister in London. All the Talents (1807), contains sharp-tongued portraits of Charles Fox and Richard Brinsley Sheridan. A shorter poem, All the Talents in Ireland, appeared in the same year. Women (1810) eulogizes female virtue. Other works are a comedy, My Wife, What Wife? (1815), and The Heroine (1822), an Ossianic romance.
