Australian dancer and choreographer. He trained at the Australian Ballet School and joined the company in 1976, where he was promoted to soloist in 1992. He additionally danced with Stuttgart Ballet between 1981 and 1984. In 1986 he created his first ballet, Strauss Songs (1986) and in 1995 was appointed resident choreographer of Australian Ballet, creating many more works for the company including Beyond Bach (1995), 1914 (mus. Graeme Koehne, 1998), Molto Vivace (mus. Handel, 2003), Night Path (mus. Richard Mills, 2008), and a new staging of Raymonda (2006).

He has also created works for La Scala Ballet, Sydney Dance Company, West Australian Ballet, and New York City Ballet's Diamond Project among others.
