The BBC diet is a low fat, high-fibre diet described in a book by Barry Lynch (Lynch, B.  The BBC diet. BBC Books, London). He encourages dieters to reduce their energy intake by eating less fat, and increase their energy expenditure by taking more exercise. He also advises drinking plenty of fluids and describes how dieters can adopt sensible eating habits. The book uses conventional nutritional wisdom and the diet plans are sensible.
