Quick Reference

Paris-born French architect who specialized in low-cost housing, notably at Cité de la Muette at Drancy (from 1934), in which industrialized components were used. Among his other works the Maison du Peuple, Clichy (1937–9—with Prouvé), and extensions to the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland (1967–73—with Nervi and others), should be cited. His work produced hard and uncompromising environments.
