[P. R. Begg (1898–1983), Australian orthodontist] A fixed orthodontic appliance used to tip the crowns of teeth. It utilizes a round wire fitted fairly loosely into a channel at the top of the orthodontic bracket. It can produce both apical and rotational movement by using auxiliary springs or loops placed in the archwire.
