[N. G. Bennett (1870–1947), English dentist] The lateral movement of the mandible produced when the mandibular condyles slide along the mandibular fossae during sideways jaw movement. The Bennett angle is the angle formed by the sagittal plane and the path of the mandibular condyle during lateral movement when viewed in a horizontal plane.
