The ability to maintain a bent arm position while hanging from a bar. It is used to test the muscular endurance of the arm and shoulder (figure 11).▪ Hold a fixed bar with palms facing toward your body. Get a partner to lift you off the floor to a position where your chin is above the bar, the elbows are bent, and your chest is close to the bar. Hold the position as long as you can without resting your chin on the bar. Ask your partner to time the hold, stopping the watch when your eyes go below the bar.Rating: >20 seconds, high; 10–19 seconds, average; <10 seconds, low.
