A disorder (benign macrothrombocytopenia) in which platelets aggregate normally (compare Glanzmann's thrombasthenia) but do not stick to the collagen of subendothelial basement membrane. Caused by deficiency in platelet membrane glycoprotein Ib (CD42), the receptor for von Willebrand factor.
