(established 1912)

Although founded by Giovanni Bertone before the First World War as a car body workshop it was not until his son Nuccio joined the Italian firm in 1934 that the company began to emerge as a leading carrozzerie. After the Second World War a number of classic body styles were produced including the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (1954), the Spider 850 (1964) and the Lancia Stratos (1971). Other noted designs have included the Volkswagen Polo (1975), the Citroën BX (1982) and, more recently, the Fiat Punto Cabrio (1994).
