The Betsileo primarily inhabit the Central Highlands of Madagascar. They speak Malagasy, a Malayo-Polynesian language, and consist of four subgroups: the Arindrano, the Halangina, the Isandra, and the Manadriana. Approximately 1.5 million people consider themselves Betsileo.
