Quick Reference

(c.14th century ce)

An esoteric Sanskrit rewrite of the Rāmāyaṇa, which models its story of Rāma's childhood on the Kṛṣṇa bhakti of the Bhāgavata Purāṇa, infused with Advaitin theology. For a long time it may have been available only to Rāmānandī rasik sects, although it also appears to have been one of the influences on Tulsīdās(a)'s Rāmcaritmānas.
