Latvian-born American architect, who settled in the USA in 1949, where his architecture, much influenced by the work of Eero Saarinen, has been admired. His Museum of Glass, Corning, NY (1976), exploits curved glazed forms. Other works include the Law Library, Duke University, NC (1989), and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas, MO (1991).
