Britain's first space launch vehicle, designated R3, and the only one to launch a satellite. Although it put the first British satellite, Prospero, into orbit in October 1971, the Black Arrow programme was cancelled in July of that year. Only four were launched, all from Woomera, Australia, with two failing. One of the rockets is now on display in the Science Museum in London, England.
